My Story
I am a wife and a mama with two energetic, full-of-life toddlers. My husband is active-duty Navy, so the military lifestyle has taken my family to several states the past few years. But originally, I'm actually Virginia-born and raised! I grew up just below the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the Shenandoah Valley.
My interest in photography started while taking photos of my kids on our adventures hiking. I wanted to "freeze" a moment so I'd be able to look back and remember this time with my babies.
My style
My favorite photos are ones you can "feel"
In a session with me, you won't be doing traditional stuffy poses. Think instead, walking together, laughing, being silly, feeling close. Part of this job that I love so much is getting to know you and your family, and fostering a genuine connection, so that you feel comfortable and have fun! I promise you'll leave our time together laughing and with beautiful images that you look at and *feel*when you look back at them years down the road.
The candid moments between poses are some of the sweetest.
As a mama, I understand just how fast our little ones grow and how quickly time passes. You blink, and they're already taller. I love to capture the seemingly ordinary moments during our session in addition to those from poses and prompts. To me, those candids are the kinds of shots of my own kids I know I'll treasure years down the road. Seeing them laughing and playing, transports me back to the moment the image was taken and makes me smile.
